Always perform pre-work walk-around

  • Check fluid levels, winch ropes, block and ball
  • Check for leaks
  • Make sure rigging is set and reeved properly
  • Ensure crane is level
  • Check the radius area for overhead obstructions and/or power lines
  • Have a lift plan
  • Have a signal person or electronic device
  • Make sure pads are set and ground bearing is safe for load
